Giving and the kindness of people

I just have to say that even though it seems very sparingly nowadays, there are some really really good people out there.  Last night I picked the bible up (as I havent read it in a month) after I read a little I prayed to God for my girls to have a good Christmas and to be happy with everything that they will be getting.

Today I had an appt and while I was at my appt my husband went to the grocery store to get some stocking stuffers for the girls we are on a REALLY tight budget this year and have to pick and choose what we bought for them.  An older couple started talking to my husband while he was shopping for the girls and they talked about their families, how her son is in the military and this is the first time in 3yrs she will be seeing him and her grandchildren for the holidays, Matt talked to the man as he was on the police department (now retired) and Matt was on the fire dept for 9yrs.  Matt picked up a cute candy bear, checked the price and realized it was out of our budget and put it back.  Matt and the couple said their goodbyes and he went to the checkout..

The woman came up behind him with her bananas and asked if she could goo in front of him, of course he allowed her.  She paid for her items and then paid for everything that Matt was about to pay for with our order.  He was truly stunned and so thankful.  As he checked out he walked to the door and the woman again was at the door waiting for him.  She handed him those teddy bear chocolates and told him he hoped our girls enjoyed them and handed him a small brown bag and said Merry Christmas and enjoy every moment with your family.  Matt looked into the bag and saw a pre-paid American Express card.  He went after her saying he couldnt accept it, but she refused to take it back and said I know you can use it and walked away.  He never got her name and she never gave it.
He came home and told me what had happened, I called the card thinking it was a generous 25 dollars, but no it was far far much more than that.  I just started crying..I am so thankful for her and how she helped our family..I just dont even have the words to express how I feel.  God bless her and her family for we are forever thankful.  In the future I hope that I am more stable financially to be able to help someone as much as her and her husband have helped us.  We are truly blessed and forever grateful.

There are some amazing people out there even when the world doesnt seem so nice.  In the future I hope to Pay It Forward to someone else who is worse off than I am.
